Survivor Website Redesign
I'm a mega fan of the show SURVIVOR so as a fun excercise I redesigned there website. Its a nightmare to navigate and find what you're looking for. This new concept allows easy access to the things fans wants as well as allowing them relevant content in a digestable amount. I also wanted to include a way for someone to get information from previous seasons as they are referenced many times.

ABOVE: 1 - The main nav bar is divided into two groups: the left side deals mainly with the current season while the right side deals with the bigger series, allowing access to past seasons information. 2 - The primary reason most users would visit the sight would be to get info on the latest episode. With that in mind access to the epsisode (pictures, videos, and summary) is right in front above the fold. 3 - If you missed the past few episodes, previous episodes are one click away.
ABOVE: 1 - The secondary reason concumers would visit the website is all the extras and tidbits you don't get on the show. This adds to the expierence of each episode so allowing them to be easily found (which isn't the case curently) helps with the expierence. 2 - Ponderosa is a show within the show giving the fans access to Survivors after they are voted off. The solid color hides any spoilers and putting them on the homepage allows visitors easy access to details and game paly not apparent in the episodes. 3 & 4 - SURVIVOR has great social media engagement and content so highlighting it was a easy decision on the homepage.
ABOVE: 1 - A current issue on the current site is navigating between episodes. This orginaized nav bar (with upcoming episodes grayed out) allows visitors quickly flip between episodes as well as transistion to previous seasons say if a cast member was brought back. 2 - Putting the video, images and sharing options at the top of the page gives the visitors the option to expierence the episode the way they want. The top summary also allows a quick overview without having to scroll through. 3 - What if you missed just a portion of the episode or want to jump to a part? Each episode if brokendown into 3 parts (Reward Challenge, Immunitity Challenge, and Tribal Council) and these links allow you to jump to and from each with one click.
ABOVE: 1 - Those extras on the homepage can also be brought back into the episode section. Its hard to describe the challenge in words, but with this added content placed beside each challenge, specfically the behind the scenes, one can have contaxt and better understand the description. 2 - In the same vein, adding images through out the episode allows for more context and added value as you go through the expierence.
ABOVE: 1 - Bringing back the Episode Page nav pattern, allows one to see cast members from the current and previous seasons with ease. SURVIVOR constantly brings back players from previous seasons so this is super useful in giving one context and allows for fans to relive seasons as they see their previous favorite players. 2 - Sometimes visitors may know who they are looking for by name while others only by their face. Giving both options is key to solving that solution and speeding up that search process.
